Maschinenträume

Als ich anfing „ Maschinenträume“ zu malen, dachte ich an ein rundes, puppenhaftes Gesicht mit sehr vollen Lippen, zu kleiner Nase und dunkel geschminkten Augen.
Schwarz weiß modelliert, nur die Lippen orange rot, stand es schließlich vor mir auf der Staffelei und aus einem Impuls heraus begann ich das Bild komplett orange rot einzufärben.
Aus der zarten Geisha wurde eine kraftvolle schlafende Puppe, ein Roboter, eine Maschine.
MASCHINENTRÄUME
Wenn ich das Bild jetzt betrachte, denke ich sofort an „ Metropolis“ den fantastischen Film von Fritz Lang, obwohl die Heldin des Films, Brigitte Helm, als Maria und als Maschinenfrau
keine Ähnlichkeit mit meiner  „ Puppe“ aufweist und ich sie auch nicht im Kopf hatte als ich das Bild malte.
Meine Liebe zu dem Kino und der Photographie der 20-und 30 Jahre hat mein ästhetisches
Empfinden stark geprägt, aus dem bewundern, aufsaugen, und filtern dieser Bilder stammt
wahrscheinlich meine Vorstellung einer schlafenden Puppe.

Starting this painting with a face of a doll in mind, with very full lips, the nose a little to small, and dark eye make up.
I paintes it black and white, only the lips were deep orange. Following an impuls I suddenly began to turn the whole picture orange red.
The beautyful, fragile geisha transformed into a powerful sleeping doll, a roboter, a machine
MACHINE DREAMS
Looking at this painting now, “ Metropolis”, the awsome movie by Fritz Lang immediately comes to my mind.
There are no immediate similarities to Brigitte Helm, the actress of Maria, the Machinewoman.
But my aesthetic sensitivity is influenced by the art, the cinema and lifestyle of the 20`s and 30`s. The admiration and love, the feeling of beeing “ connected” to that time, inspired the image of my sleeping doll
